Heckelphone #3881

According to Edith Reiter's 2014 book, this instrument was completed on 21 July 1924 and originally sold to a buyer in an unknown location.

Howe & Hurd (2004) describe heckelphone #3881 as a model 36a that has later been altered to a model 36h.

As of 2004, this heckelphone was reported to be owned by bassoonist Christer Nyström and to be located in Gotenburg, Sweden, where it is used in the Gotenburg Symphony. The history of this instrument remains largely unclear.
