According to Edith Reiter's 2014 book, this instrument was completed on 18 March 1927 and originally sold to a buyer in the USA.

Howe & Hurd (2004) describe heckelphone #4013 as a model 36i, tuned at A=440; the instrument has a muting bell.

As of 2014, heckelphone #4013 has been reported to be located in Munich, Germany, owned by noted heckelphonist and collector, Dr. Gunther Joppig.

The history of heckelphone #4013 remains largely unclear.
